WEEK ONE: PERFORMANCE BOARD

During week one the AES I Can Perform my way team worked on what is called a performance board . The performance board is a technological device that not only draws the attention of special needs kids that like sound and color but allows them to perform with us in productions that are put on by the school systems or the general public. The performance board can also be used as an educational tool, because special needs kids that are sensitive to touch will be drawn to the light, color and sounds projected from the board. Allowing the students to use a device like the performance board will help them to adjust to touch and physical contact with others. Children sometimes do not understand the struggles that a special needs child must work so hard to overcome ,some of them cannot even be held by their parents because of their sensitivity to touch.Can you imagine never being able to feel your mother or fathers touch because of a disability that causes you to be sensitive to it ? Yeah, me either which is why our performance board is such an important tool in the lives of touch sensitive students.
